Wellesley Advisory Committee hears FY27 budget with warning of long-term capital costs. The Advisory Committee heard the town's financial plan from Select Board Chair Marjorie Freiman and CFO Rachel DeRoche, with the FY27 budget split into four motions totaling $219.3 million in municipal, school, and municipal light plant appropriations. Reserves remain healthy at 14.94 percent above the 12 percent guideline.
If all planned capital projects proceed, the median home tax bill would increase from approximately $18,200 to $24,300 by fiscal year 2035, representing a 30 percent increase over the natural 4-4.2 percent annual growth rate.
