Board approves $7.5M bond anticipation note for Hardy Elementary School solar project.

Select Board · Meeting of May 19, 2026

Wellesley Select Board unanimously renews $7.5M bond note for Hardy Elementary School solar project. Treasurer Maura O'Connor reported Fidelity Capital Markets won competitive sale at 2.60 percent net interest cost, a decline from 3.00 percent the prior year. The board also voted unanimously to end its agreement with Plymouth County Parking and return to Passport Parking for consolidated citation and enforcement management, resolving operational inefficiencies that resulted in citations being issued to residents who had already paid for parking.

The change includes a $500 monthly vendor fee. In policy work, Colette Aufranc presented a first read of an updated Naming of Public Assets Policy, reformatted to town standard structure with new provisions for renaming, revocation under extraordinary circumstances, and clarified expense responsibility; the board agreed to submit written feedback by week's end.
