Board of Health approves minutes, discusses shared services funding

Wellesley Board of Health updates on shared services funding and summer operations. Chair Marcia Testa Simonson reported that the Shared Services Agreements will receive 15 million dollars in funding. Health Department Director Lenny Izzo provided an update on the PNSS pilot program and noted final funding amounts will be determined when the shared services budget is finalized in June.
The board discussed nursing position compensation competitiveness. Summer operations include pool and beach inspections, tick and mosquito prevention efforts, monitoring increased coyote activity, and newly deployed automated external defibrillators and Narcan stations at Sprague and Hunnewell fields. Respiratory illness has decreased significantly, with most flu cases now the B strain.
