Board of Health reviews community health needs assessment findings

WELLESLEY — The Board of Health reviewed results from a Community Health Needs Assessment at its January 8 meeting and scheduled January 22 as its next meeting date, which will focus on a new Parent and Newborn Support Services program. Dr. Marcia Testa Simonson, Chair, directed the board to review the assessment findings by then, after which the Health Department and Trendline Analysis will develop a distribution plan.
The board also received updates on an unusually early influenza surge with many pediatric cases; Wellesley's vaccination rates remain higher than the statewide average, and the Health Department maintains adequate vaccine supplies despite questions about the current strain's match with this year's vaccine.
