Board of Library Trustees approves parking lot renovation project

Board of Library Trustees · Meeting of January 13, 2026

WELLESLEY — The Board of Library Trustees approved a $766,000 parking lot renovation for the Main Library, with construction set to begin summer 2026 and run eight to 12 weeks. Town Engineer Dave Hickey presented the project, which includes milling and paving, new sidewalks, stairs, and a front patio entrance; the Library may close for a couple of days during intensive work phases. The Board also unanimously approved revised Rules of Conduct and Meeting Room policies, updated procedures for service animal access to comply with State law following a December incident, and voted to endorse the "Our Future Memory" digital rights initiative, requesting a meeting with collaborator Michael Menna to learn more about securing equivalent digital rights for libraries and cultural institutions. ===BRIEF===
