WELLESLEY — Climate Action Committee approves prior minutes and discusses solar projects and heat pumps. The committee approved March 6 minutes 4-0-2 during a remote meeting called by Vice Chair Mary Gard. Sustainability Director Dr.

Marybeth Martello reported the Permanent Building Committee voted 5-1 to advance Hardy and Hunnewell solar projects, with timeline potentially shifting from summer 2027 to fall 2026. The Municipal Light Board offered heat pump incentives of $1,125 per cooling ton with a $200,000 cap for school air conditioning, but Facilities Director Joe McDonough noted the School Committee chose window AC units, making the incentive cost-ineffective. Wellesley College students presented the state's "Climate Change Superfund" legislation and sought municipal resolution support.
