WELLESLEY — Design Review Board approves five sign permits with recommendations on placement and sizing. Chair Juann Khoory led the board in approving permits for Virsa The Punjab at 99 Central Street, New World Opera at 307 Washington Street, Down Under School of Yoga at 151 Linden Street, D'Arcy Wellness at 277 Linden Street, and Mona Dermatology's temporary window coverings at 71 Central Street, all unanimously. The board continued applications for Clarendon Fine Art at 25 Central Street and Rutledge Properties at 572 Washington Street, recommending design revisions to respect building architecture and storefront proportions.
Wellesley College's residence hall swing space project at 106 Central Street, which would house 150 students in five modular buildings for eight to ten years, received unanimous approval for both landscape and architectural design with recommendations for outdoor gathering spaces and enhanced natural lighting. The board also unanimously found a proposed 19-unit residential development at 592 Washington Street consistent with design criteria and community enhancement but continued the Project of Significant Impact application for further review.
