Historical Commission approves preservation status for four Wellesley properties.

WELLESLEY — The Wellesley Historical Commission voted unanimously to designate four residential properties as preferably preserved, each imposing a 12-month delay on demolition permits. Chair Michael Racette and five members including Vice Chair Alexander Gavis, Secretary Larry McNally, Michael Greco, and Thomas Paine approved preferably preserved status for 202 Cedar Street, 45 Mayo Road, 25 Sheridan Road, and 7 Woodcliff Road in votes of 5-0. The commission also approved three waivers allowing demolition of preferably preserved homes for new construction: 10 Alba Road (4-1), 45 Windsor Road (5-0 with conditions including dark-sky lighting and town engineer water management approval), and 31 Old Farm Road (5-0).
Three items were tabled to February 9, 2026, when more commission members present at prior meetings can participate in minute approval.
