Historical Commission approves three preservation determinations at March meeting

Historical Commission · Meeting of March 9, 2026

Wellesley Historical Commission approves preservation determinations for two residential properties. The board voted 7-0 to preferably preserve a circa-1948 Cape Cod at 10 Brewster Road and 6-1 to preserve a 1936 Garrison Colonial at 63 Donizetti Street, each imposing 12-month demolition delays. Chair Michael Racette dissented on Donizetti Street.

The Commission unanimously rejected preservation status for a 1949 vernacular home at 58 Parker Road, deeming it architecturally inconsistent with neighborhood character. The board approved waivers for properties at 25 Sheridan Road and 8 MacArthur Road, both unanimously, and continued discussion of a 45 Mayo Road waiver to April 15 over significant design concerns about a garage-dominated facade.
