WELLESLEY — Natural Resources Commission advances refined land conservation plan toward Town Meeting. Vice Chair Steve Park and commissioners including Bea Bezmalinovic and Michael D'Ortenzio endorsed D'Ortenzio's 40-page strategy after proposing a two-step warrant article separating conservation affirmation from funding, with Bezmalinovic urging a strengthened 2-page executive summary. NRC Director Brandon Schmitt recommended adding language on small but strategically valuable properties.
The commission plans briefings with the Select Board, Advisory Committee, and Community Preservation Committee before Town Meeting, with the next meeting scheduled for January 29 and a possible Select Board discussion around February 3.
