Natural Resources Commission appoints McLaren to Wetlands Protection Committee.

Natural Resources Commission (NRC) · Meeting of April 2, 2026

WELLESLEY — Natural Resources Commission fills vacant Wetlands seat and advances environmental projects. The commission unanimously appointed Jim McLaren, a former two-term member, to the Wetlands Protection Committee through June 30, 2028, ending months of recruitment efforts. The board also unanimously backed a Miyawaki forest proposal at Overbrook Park East to replace 18,000 square feet of disturbed soil during water main work, and approved a decade-long amplification permit for the Terriers Sports summer program at Kelly Fields.

On state draft housing regulations for surplus property at 40 Oakland Street, Chair Steve Park agreed to coordinate with the Select Board to embed the NRC's environmental concerns into the town's unified response before April 13.
