WELLESLEY — Natural Resources Commission unanimously approves Overbrook Park water main license. The NRC green-lit temporary materials storage at Overbrook Park for a DPW water main replacement project, subject to proper permitting and NRC Director Brandon Schmitt's coordination. The meeting included end-of-season reporting on the Hunnewell Track and Field complex showing 2025 night games and practices consumed 72.74 hours of field lighting, well within the 100-hour annual limit.
Chair Jay McHale emphasized the need to understand deferred maintenance issues and gather stakeholder input before proceeding with Wight Pond acquisition talks, while Director Schmitt outlined potential major projects including culvert repair at $15,000-$250,000 and dredging at approximately $400,000. The Commission scheduled a January 13 special Zoom meeting to finalize a land conservation plan draft ahead of the January 21 Advisory Committee deadline.
