WELLESLEY — Permanent Building Committee votes to move forward with solar installations at Hardy and Hunnewell Elementary Schools. Chair Michael Tauer moved the motion, seconded by Suzanne Littlefield, in a 4-1 vote with Thomas Goemaat dissenting over funding concerns. Town Counsel Tom Harrington advised the original town meeting authorization was broad enough to permit solar work without a revote.
Financing relies on a $1 million Climate Leader Grant decision by June and up to $1 million from the Municipal Light Plant, with procurement delayed pending confirmed funding. The committee separately approved IMEG's $12,000 Contract Amendment Number 03 for Warren Building commissioning services unanimously.
