WELLESLEY — Permanent Building Committee approves $508,477 in project payments and construction contracts. Chair Michael Tauer and the five-member committee unanimously backed six motions authorizing payments across the Hardy School, Warren Building HVAC upgrades, and DPW RDF Administration Building projects, including a $129,623.84 Tower Construction requisition, a $39,594.70 change order for spray insulation work, and a $106,856 LiRo contract amendment for clerk of the works services. Select Board member Colette Aufranc outlined a proposed town-wide Capital Planning Committee to evaluate projects over $1 million to $2 million and develop a 10-year capital plan; committee members raised concerns about construction expertise on the panel and potential staffing strain on Facilities Management.
