Planning Board approves density ruling; continues two major projects

WELLESLEY — Planning Board approves special permit decision and continues three pending reviews. The board unanimously approved a written decision for the 592 Washington Street special permit on a 19-story multifamily project, finding it consistent with design guidelines, but continued the Project of Significant Impact hearing for the same address after expressing concern that fire department approval language was ambiguous. The board also continued PSI-26-01 for First Citizens Bank at 26 Washington Street—a two-story, 36-foot building with a bank on the first floor and office space above—after applicant engineer Seth Anderson presented a revised fire access plan; board member Edward Chazen flagged traffic concerns near existing restaurants, and Chair Marc Charney suggested potential setbacks for a future commuter lane.
A third application, Large House Review LHR-26-01 at 48 Livermore Road, was continued pending town engineer George Serena's final approval of a 55-percent addition for multigenerational living space.
