Planning Board approves parking revision, continues dense housing review.

WELLESLEY — Planning Board approves special permit for 592 Washington Street 19-unit development. Chair Marc Charney and members Thomas Taylor, James Roberti, Patricia Mallett, and Kathleen Woodward voted unanimously to grant the Wellesley Square Commercial District permit on the condition that the existing beech tree be preserved, five-foot-wide arborvitae screening be installed along the north side, at least four guest parking spaces be provided, and that open space calculations be verified by the Department of Public Works Engineering Division. The board separately voted unanimously to approve a major modification to a previously approved project at 192/194 Worcester Street, reducing required parking from 78 to 74 spaces while remaining above the 68-space bylaw requirement.
The board continued the Project of Significant Impact review for 592 Washington Street to February 9 pending Fire Department approvals.
