Wellesley Planning Board defers permits due to low attendance, hires new director. With three of five members present, the Board continued the Inclusionary Zoning and Lower Falls Village Commercial District special permits for 26 Washington Street to June 29, citing the need for a full four-vote quorum to approve. Chair Marc Charney announced the Board has hired Rob Watchilla as its new Planning Director, starting July 8.
The Board also received an introductory presentation on a proposed 15-unit residential project at 136-140 Worcester Street seeking rezoning to the Multiunit Residence District, directing applicant Dean Behrend to resolve concerns about lot size accuracy, site access via Alpine Street, and plan consistency before advancing further.
