RIO Task Force approves prior minutes; schedules pre-town meeting report session.

Planning Board · Meeting of March 24, 2026

WELLESLEY — RIO Task Force approves prior meeting minutes and schedules report review. Chair Tom Taylor oversaw unanimous approval of the February 2nd and 12th minutes, with staff tasked to correct a significant error in the February 23rd minutes that had incorrectly recorded a motion to eliminate RIO in all zoning districts as failing when it actually passed 9-4. Peter Welburn's seven-page draft appendix for the Planning Board's annual report prompted discussion clarifying that task force opposition to the current RIO tool reflected concerns about its utility for housing goals rather than opposition to denser housing generally.

The group scheduled a thirty-minute in-person meeting Monday, March 30 at Wellesley High School before town meeting begins to finalize the report.
