WELLESLEY — The Wellesley School Committee advanced revisions to its student restraint and seclusion policy to comply with state regulations, scheduling a vote for August 18. The committee incorporated feedback from the Special Education Parent Advisory Council and approved amendments to the parent notification timeline, specifying that parents be verbally notified as soon as possible but no later than 24 hours after a restraint event. Counsel Angela Smagula reviewed the revisions and found them consistent with Massachusetts law.
The committee also approved gifts and donations including a replacement sign at Bates Elementary School and entered executive session to discuss superintendent contract negotiations.
