Select Board amends traffic regulations, approves bylaw committee charge.

Select Board · Meeting of January 13, 2026

Wellesley Select Board votes on traffic regulations and MassBay update. The board unanimously approved amendments adding a stop sign at Ivy Road and Poplar Road and prohibiting parking on Halsey Avenue and Turner Road near Morses Pond. Chair Marjorie Freiman reported that Secretary Ed Augustus stated the proposed MassBay development would not exceed 180 units and that the Commonwealth intends to preserve 39 to 40 acres of the forested site, with the Board having submitted written questions to state officials and awaiting responses to reschedule a community visioning session.

The Board also voted four to one to approve a revised General Bylaw Review Committee charge, and continued the FY27 budget discussion to January 20, with staff to gather additional data on unspent capital projects and alternative funding mechanisms to address the current $2 million deficit.
