Select Board approves 592 Washington Street traffic review with concerns about delivery management

Select Board · Meeting of January 27, 2026

WELLESLEY — Select Board approves traffic review for 592 Washington Street residential project. The 4-1 vote accepted Tighe and Bond's professional traffic assessment for the proposed 19-unit multifamily development, though board members requested the recommendation letter reflect concerns about on-site delivery management and potential double parking on Washington Street. The project generates 16 to 20 peak-hour vehicle trips, below the 50-trip threshold requiring significant impact analysis.

Separately, the board unanimously approved a $500,000 winter maintenance supplemental for the Department of Public Works, with Director Dave Cohen reporting the department had responded to approximately 15 storm events this fiscal year, many requiring overnight or weekend overtime response.
