WELLESLEY — Select Board approves warrant and three advisory motions for May 11 Special Town Meeting on 40 Oakland Street development. Chair Marjorie Freiman and all four members voted unanimously to approve the warrant and motions drafted by Town Counsel Thomas Harrington, which ask Town Meeting to choose between accepting the Commonwealth's framework, advising the Board to negotiate additional priorities, or proceeding to litigation. The Board approved amendments to Motion 2 requiring a conservation restriction with public access, removal of all MassBay parking from the parcel, and direct Route 9 access to the college campus.
The Board also approved a $900,000 FY27 appropriation from free cash for legal and related professional services exclusively for 40 Oakland Street matters.
