Select Board · Meeting of September 15, 2026
Wellesley Select Board approved eight additional election workers, bringing the volunteer workforce to approximately 100. Town Clerk K.C. Kato recommended the appointments, which were approved unanimously.
The bulk of the meeting focused on a proposed fire station master plan presented by Fire Chief Steve Mortarelli and consultant Jeff Shaw, who recommended a new headquarters on the North 40 property to meet NFPA standards. Board members indicated they want a multi-site feasibility study and additional community input before any Town Meeting vote, responding to public concerns about traffic impacts and open space raised by more than a dozen speakers.
