Wellesley Library Trustees adopted a revised encroachment policy and questioned who owns a stalled HVAC project.
Library Trustees · Meeting of August 11, 2026
Wellesley Library Trustees adopted a revised encroachment policy and questioned who owns a stalled HVAC project. The board voted unanimously to approve a revised townwide encroachment policy giving DPW and the Facilities Management Department surveying responsibility on library and school land, and approved $1,800 in state aid for the library's annual report design and $3,450 for a Hills Library ceiling mural. Foundation president Tripp Sheehan reported two new board members, attorney Mark Borden and CPA Reza Mahbaba.
Trustees pushed back on a Capital Planning Committee form naming the library "proponent" of a 2003-era HVAC replacement, with chair Marla saying, "that seems to me what was facility management department's job." The Hills Library renovation remains on track for an October 6 public reopening.
