Wellesley Capital Planning Committee convenes inaugural meeting on capital surge. Chair Colette Aufranc, Select Board member, led elections of Niki Ofenloch as Vice Chair and Tom Ulfelder as Secretary, both unanimously. CFO Rachel DeRoche projected median tax bills could rise to $24,000 by 2034 from $18,200 in 2027, potentially requiring seven consecutive debt-exclusion votes beginning spring 2027.

Facilities Director Joe McDonough presented $140 million in capital projects, with DPW campus ($75 million) and Fire Station ($65-73 million) projects alone representing 58 percent of the 10-year capital budget.
