Wellesley Historical Commission deems 1910 Foursquare preferably preserved. The commission voted unanimously May 12 to protect 14 Heckle Street, a two-and-a-half-story American Foursquare built in 1910 by Thomas and Mary Morris, imposing a 12-month delay on demolition permits. Past residents included poet and author Ramona Graham Cook and civil-rights advocate Margaret Robertson.
In reviewing new-construction waiver applications, the commission approved 37 Martin Road by a contentious 4-3 vote, with Vice Chair Gavis, Member Greco, and Member Paine dissenting, and unanimously approved 63 Donizetti Street and 45 Mayo Road by 6-1.
