Wetlands Committee issues negative determination for riverfront garage demolition

WELLESLEY — January 30, 2025 — Wellesley Wetlands Protection Committee clears riverfront garage demolition and closes out a Woodfield Road rebuild. Members voted unanimously Thursday to issue a negative determination for the teardown of a roughly 125-square-foot garage whose rear corner sits inside a 200-foot riverfront area, after applicant Marissa described hay wattle protection, mini-excavator work and no on-site stockpiling, with the footprint to be "loamed and seeded" back to grass. The committee also unanimously granted a certificate of compliance for a demolition-and-rebuild home at 16 Woodfield Road, presented by Heather Dory of Cane Built, who cited a Monday closing and asked for "a clean, clean break." A third filing for 93 Wellesley Ave. was continued to Feb. 20 after materials arrived too late to review. Chair Eleanor McLane was absent; Vice Chair Peter Jones, Doug Hersh and Eben Scanlon voted on both matters.
