WELLESLEY — A 58-year-old man was fatally stabbed at Phillips Park Thursday evening, with a suspect taken into custody, making it the most serious incident to hit Wellesley in recent memory.

The town's Council on Aging is looking to fill a vacant seat on its Board of Directors. Residents interested in volunteering for the COA Board have until July 17 to apply; details are posted on the town's News Flash page at wellesleyma.gov.
Separately, the town is also actively recruiting volunteers for two historic preservation bodies — the Historical Commission and the Historic District Commission. Those are two distinct groups, and the town is seeking candidates for both.
