Select Board meeting transcript unavailable; $400,000 snow request was on agenda

WELLESLEY — February 24, 2026 — Wellesley Select Board meeting record unavailable as $400,000 snow request, Town Meeting motions await action. The Wellesley Media transcript of the Feb. 24 Select Board meeting contained only a two-word fragment, leaving no public record of how the board acted on an agenda that included a second winter-maintenance supplemental from Free Cash. DPW Director David A. Cohen wrote in a Feb. 20 memo to Executive Director Meghan Jop that 14 salting events and four storms had exhausted an earlier $500,000 authorization, with crews deploying 2,500 tons of salt and 15,000 gallons of brine. The board was also scheduled to vote on the draft Town-Wide Financial Plan setting a $246,081,818 fiscal 2027 budget, a 0.8 percent increase, and to advance a new Town-Wide Capital Planning Committee citing "increasing pressure from the number, scale, anticipated cost, and sequencing of major capital projects." Annual Town Meeting begins March 30.
