Select Board Policy Subcommittee discusses Town-Wide Capital Planning Committee draft

WELLESLEY — The Select Board Policy Subcommittee met with the Climate Action Committee to gather feedback on a draft Town-Wide Capital Planning Committee designed to bolster the Select Board's capital planning responsibilities. Colette Aufranc presented the proposed structure, current process review, and draft committee elements, including plans to create an appendix of strategic plans for reference. Members of the Climate Action Committee suggested broadening environmental sustainability language to include climate change mitigation and resilience, developing a department checklist tool for project evaluation meetings, and incorporating grants as an evaluation criterion.
The committee expressed support for the proposal.
