Wellesley CPC re-elects leaders, OKs $4,350 in dues
Community Preservation Committee · Meeting of September 9, 2026
Wellesley's Community Preservation Committee re-elected its leadership and heard that a fire station could rise on the same North 40 land it has spent a decade trying to conserve. Chair Stephen Murphy and Vice Chair Allan Port were both unanimously re-elected. Select Board staffers Colette L.
Frank and Marjorie Fryman said the CPC's proposed 13.12-acre conservation restriction does not overlap with two candidate fire station sites, with a public charrette set for October 1. The committee also voted 7-0 on a roll call to pay $4,350 in annual dues to the Community Preservation Coalition and approved three backlogged sets of minutes. Separately, member Janice Kodori previewed a roughly $500,000 Wellesley Housing Authority request for a "comprehensive security and technology infrastructure upgrade," while member Barbara McMahon said the town's Affordable Housing Trust is finalizing a five-year plan that identifies a need for a dedicated staffer.
Murphy said the committee's financial plan currently has nothing allocated for fiscal 2028.
