Wellesley Library Spotlights Hills Branch Renovation Progress

Wellesley Free Library flagged fresh progress on its Hills Branch renovation this week, even as the Main Library calendar filled with technology classes, book clubs and children's programs running into the Labor Day stretch.

Wellesley Free Library posted a "Project Progress Spotlight" on the ongoing renovation of its Hills Branch, inviting residents to follow the transformation as the project moves forward. The Main Library also opened two new adult offerings this week: "Modern Communication with Technology" on Wednesday, Aug. 26, and "Taking Great Photos with Your iPhone" on Friday, Aug. 28, both in library meeting rooms.

The library's Main branch closes all day Sunday, Aug. 23, then reopens with a run of kids and family programming: "Secret Codes & AI Detectives" for tweens plays Monday through Thursday, Aug. 24-27, in Jackie's Room. Tuesday, Aug. 25 brings the Sci-Fi Book Club at 7 p.m., Pokemon Club at 4 p.m. and a virtual talk, "When Trees Testify," with author Beronda Montgomery at 2 p.m. Wednesday's Fuse Beads craft session runs at 3:30 p.m. in the Wakelin Room, and Thursday, Aug. 27 pairs Tech Time in Jackie's Room, 10 a.m. to noon, with the children's program Full S.T.E.A.M. Ahead at 10 a.m.
