WELLESLEY — Wetlands Protection Committee approves diseased tree removal with replanting conditions. The committee voted 5-0 to approve removal of a 34-inch oak at 27 Brookfield Road that poses a safety hazard but required applicant John Razzano to submit a revised native planting mitigation plan by July 9, with panel members noting the tree's estimated 2,500-species habitat value. In related actions, the committee approved delegation of all signatures to Wetlands Administrator Julie Meyer (4-0, with one abstention), issued a negative determination for concrete step replacement at Wellesley Country Club (5-0), and denied a Certificate of Compliance at 339 Weston Road because two years had not elapsed for restoration vegetation evaluation (5-0).
The committee continued four major development hearings to May 7, including two-family riverfront projects at 49 Walnut Street and 60 McLean Street, home construction at 45 Windsor Road, and single-family construction at 39 College Road.
