Zoning Board of Appeals · Meeting of October 15, 2026
WELLESLEY — The Wellesley Zoning Board of Appeals continued a site plan hearing for a 19-unit project at 592 Washington Street to November 3. Chairman J. Randolph Becker said the board needed the applicant, Dean Behrend, to supply a missing construction management plan, lighting details and excavation data before any decision. Engineer Nicholas Anderson of Vertex Companies LLC, representing the neighboring Belclair condominium, estimated 500 to 700 truck trips to haul excavated material.
Attorney David Himmelberger called a proposed construction truck route through Wellesley Square "lunacy." Residents and attorneys also flagged missing lighting-fixture heights, an unfinished retaining-wall dimension near the Belclair's foundation, and an unmet request for a garage turnaround study. The board's motion to continue the hearing passed unanimously.
