Wellesley housing board votes to end Cambridge deal

Housing Authority · Meeting of September 8, 2026

Wellesley Housing Authority votes 5-0 to terminate its management agreement with the Cambridge Housing Authority. Chairperson Maura Renzella led the special September 8 Zoom session, which followed up on discussions from the prior week; board member Odessa Sanchez said she had already read Cambridge's same-morning email response and was "all set with that." Staff member James Sullivan said he had not yet heard back from the authority's housing attorney, contacted before the Labor Day weekend, and the board set a target of sending its formal response to Cambridge by Friday, September 11, with town counsel available as a backup. Treasurer Lisa Heyison was asked to recirculate three options for a new management structure, an executive director search, a new management agreement, or a combination, ahead of the board's September 17 meeting.
