Wellesley Housing Authority Approves $600 Stipend, $295,000 in Bills

Housing Authority · Meeting of August 20, 2026

Wellesley Housing Authority clears $295,000 in bills and a $600 stipend for a fill-in maintenance worker. The board, chaired by Maura Renzella, voted 3-0 to approve $295,070.27 in bill payments and unanimously closed out three capital-project certificates tied to entry-stair and door work at Waldo Court and Linden Street, including retainage releases of $6,850.34 and $4,250. Members approved a $600 stipend for maintenance employee Jofer Ramos, who covered supervisory duties during a colleague's absence.

A senior housing survey drawing 56 responses found 91 percent rated maintenance response "good or excellent" and 79 percent reported feeling "safe or very safe." The board also thanked donors Gary Loveman and Kathy Welsh for funding Barton Road playground repairs and discussed adding a trash can and security camera after litter and a broken bottle were found on site. A quorum gap briefly delayed approval of the July meeting minutes until member Janice Codori arrived.
