Bylaw Review Committee · Meeting of September 28, 2026

Wellesley's Bylaw Review Committee voted 5-0 three times to send amended Advisory Committee and School Committee bylaw language to the fall Special Town Meeting warrant. Chair Kenneth Largess III and Vice Chair Andrea Ward led edits to bylaw Section 11.8 on document distribution, swapping "digital" for "electronic" and "hard copy" for "paper copy," with the Advisory Committee's Article 12 language contingent on Select Board comment following its September 29 meeting. Michael D'Ortenzio Jr. said he still wanted a guaranteed mailed paper copy for Town Meeting members, saying "the internet can go out" at venues like the middle or high school.

The committee also approved the School Committee's Article 13 procurement-contract amendment and its own report to Special Town Meeting, each by 5-0 votes, while flagging an unresolved count of the town's total bylaw articles, cited as 63 but counted by one member at 61. Member Katherine Babson Jr. resigned from the committee before the meeting.
