Health Board Presses Coco Beat on Violations
Board of Health · Meeting of September 15, 2026
Wellesley Board of Health pushes Coco Beat restaurant to fix repeat health violations. Chair Marcia Testa Simonson's board heard that inspections have turned up more than a dozen violations at a time at the Washington Street restaurant, prompting closures and citations, though new chef Jay has corrected issues found in a recent re-inspection and is pursuing a roughly $15,000 refrigerator repair. Health Agent Adam said the restaurant has sometimes lacked a certified manager on duty as required.
The board also heard that a nearly finished opioid-settlement spending plan from Community Health Coordinator Jhana Wallace could reach a vote by month's end, discussed rising rat complaints in commercial areas, and unanimously approved its August 25 minutes. Members tabled a vote on appointing the Massachusetts Health Officers Association as the town's tobacco compliance-check agent until reviewing the agreement, and set their next meeting for October 13.
