Permanent Building Committee · Meeting of September 10, 2026

WELLESLEY — The Permanent Building Committee approved two solar change orders and found an accelerated AC schedule for two schools feasible. Members voted unanimously to approve a $1,950,441 change order for Honeywell and a $2,125,615 change order for Hardy Solar, both authorizing Steve Gagosian to sign. The committee also concluded that speeding up window air conditioning at Bates and Fisk elementary schools is technically feasible, at an added design cost of roughly $250,000, with Superintendent David Lucier and member Suzanne Littlefield debating equity concerns since Schofield and the middle school would wait a year.

Littlefield asked, "What do you say to a Schofield parent? Why does Bates get this?" Thomas Goemaat agreed to serve as liaison on the accelerated project, and the School Committee is set to take up the issue September 22.
