The discussion grew pointed when staff member Lauren reported the "exact same fabric" had been approved in January for a Dunkin' at 12 Washington Street, with the board accepting that application "as presented with no recommendations." Board members disputed that account and reaffirmed the standard, with one saying, "Vinyl is vinyl in this town." No formal vote was taken; the applicant was effectively invited to return with revised materials.
