PBC Votes 3-1 For Gable Roof At Morses Pond
The Wellesley Permanent Building Committee voted 3-1 to direct designers toward a gable roof for the Morses Pond beach bathhouse over a shed roof.
Permanent Building Committee · Meeting of July 9, 2026
WELLESLEY — The Wellesley Permanent Building Committee voted 3-1 to direct designers toward a gable roof for the Morses Pond beach bathhouse over a shed roof. Chair Michael Tauer, Suzanne Littlefield and Matt King backed the gable design on safety grounds, citing a history of children climbing onto rooftops at town buildings, while Vice Chair Thomas Goemaat dissented, saying "I think the user should get the shed if that's what they want." Weston & Sampson's Amanda Gaal and architect Zac Cardwell said the gable option would cost somewhat more but stay within budget. The committee also approved three DPW RDF Administration Building change orders, named Tauer liaison for the School AC Project, and approved $36,177.25 and $35,152.03 in SMMA invoices for the Hardy and Hunnewell solar projects, 4-0.
