Permanent Building Committee · Meeting of July 23, 2026
Wellesley's Permanent Building Committee voted 4-0 to approve a $247,152 payment to contractor CDI for the town's DPW administration building, authorizing Steve Gagosian to sign off. The committee directed its project team to proceed with a Unirac solar racking system over a competing Iron Ridge design after a project team member said Unirac would deliver about 90.7 percent energy offset for two schools versus roughly 10 percent less output with Iron Ridge. Vice Chair Thomas Goemaat called the choice "kind of a no-brainer." Chair Michael Tauer raised an Americans with Disabilities Act concern over a roughly $6,000 adjustable lectern proposed for the Town Hall meeting room, calling it "really not legal," and the committee sent the item back for review by architecture firm Schwartz Silver and town counsel.
Member Jose Soliva was absent.
